haha.. yeah.. i agree with both of you guys. I think it’ll be a good fight though.. cause tank is a brawler as well. I really want to see kimbo fight someone who is good at BJJ. You can tell he’s getting really versatile, using knees, elbows.. he won by guillotine. The man is smart! KIMBO ALL THE WAY!!

If kimbo was to fight in the UFC he wouldnt stand a chance!! I think kimbo is an alright street fighter even though the ppl he fights cant fight for shit!! But if he was to fight a true talented MMA fighter in the same weight class i.e randy couture i wouldnt give him 1 min!! Mercer is boxer and is such a different style to MMA so once mercer was on the floor he was gonna loss. Kimbo got that guillotine only because mercer gave if to him gettin up like he did!! Kimbo is no one special!!

Watching the ground work in the Kimbo/Mercer fight was like watching 2 midgets hump a chair. Granted Kimbo was the better of the 2 he has a lot of work to do before he can stand a chance against a UCF caliber fighter. Tank is past his prime…If he ever even had one, and is very on the ground. So it’s a good fight for Kimbo to advance his record. In my opinion if he wants to be taken seriously he eventually has to get in the ring with guys like Couture, Cro Cop, Fedor, Nogueira, Emelianenko and so on. Kimbo appears to be a good striker in the street fighting world but seemed to be on sensory overload in the cage almost like there was to much to process. If he was to fight the above mentioned, with there experience they would pick him apart. He wouldn’t last one round with Couture. Remember guys this game is so much more than striking and strength. Technique and experience are tremendous factors.

Listen people is this fight happens September 14th - Tank vs Kimblow - like they say it will??? -Tank will murder Kimblow. - Tank will knock him out within 1 minute guaranteed. -Tank has been in MMA for over 12 years now - and in that time he has taken on all styles in MMA. Kimbo has “NEVER” fought any-one that is experienced in MMA - as a true blue MMA trained style fighter. - I tell you what right now -Tank vs Kimblow will be no contest - Tank will decapitate that mother Fu#$%^&. Damn people are trippin, Tank is gonna drop bombs on Kimbo. Dont get me wrong Kimbo can slang’em but Tanks been doing this shit for many many years. Tank fights to fight not for the money. Kimbo be fighting bums too. If Kimbo were to fight any top 10 MMA heavyweights he’d get smashed. The Natural, Cro Cop, Fedor, even the Maineiac would smash him. Tell him to drop down and even then there are fighters who would smash him, Ramapage, Wanderlei. Maybe with five years of everyday training he could do something with these guys but come Sept. he’ll learn that fighting bums on the street and fighting real fighters, MMA fighters he got another thing coming.

I am not a fan of Kimbo because I believe he has a sloppy technique and runs his mouth too much. He deserves a chance like anyone else and needs more training to enter the martial arts arena. Fighting boucers from a Miami bar and fighting actual heavy weight pros is a lot different. Mercer is a boxer, should of never stepped into the martial arts arena. I agree, what is Kimbo going to do when he has to step to someone like Cotour or Lidell? But, you guys have to agree that Kimbo has potential if he would just shut his mouth and train some more. Best of luck to Kimbo, he may need it and he deserves it! He’s just trying to get out of the hood and can’t blame him for that…

Gannon ran Kimbo out of gas, he has no wind and if he fixes that then he might have a chance.

Tank has the experience for sure, however, kimbo is a bad man. It will be more evenly matched than most think. I will agree that kimbo would get slaughtered against coutoure or anybody near his skill level.

Kimbo has some heavy hands but so far he has only put them on a bunch of bums who have no real fighting skills…as far as strengh and endurence both fighters are evenly matched but look for Tank to be the better fighter that night and we will see how tuff that chin below kimbos grill really is.

As soon as mercer started throwing punches kimbo stopped throwing punches and went right to the ground with mercer. He can’t handle people who have as strong shots as he does. Tank lands strong punches but he also has been up againts many different styles of fighters and knocked some very good fighters out. If kimbo wants to proove how tuff he is he has to go toe to toe with Tank.

The fact is Kimbo is one bad dude. No, he is not world class, but he has done well for himself and he is a whole helluva lot better than just “an allright streetfighter”.
Against world class MMA he might even get a lucky win but he will lose 9 out of 10 fights to the big dogs.

I am a mma fighter and powerlifter I would knock kimbo the fuck out in one to two minutes easily. I have westled on the alternate olympic team and would take hime down and he would look like a fish. So with that in mind I hope tank doesnt try to hurt him to had kimbo is waaaaaaay out of his league and he will get knocked out period. I bet all the people who thinks he will win are black and that is why they are supporting him, but when they are all picking up their food stamps just shake his hand anyway.

I think Kimbo will win this one, look at tanks record these days, he lost 7 of his last 10 fights and his last win was in 2005, im not saying hes going to lose cause of his record I just think he doesnt have what it takes to win anymore, kimbo wants to win more, kimbo has more killer instinct than Tank. Kimbo will eventually be a good MMA fighter, he’s already showing great improvement, he trains with Bas Rutten and says Kimbo has adapted faster to MMA than any student he’s ever had.
Kimbo is a natural fighter (that’s all he wants to do) he’s strong, fearless and willing to learn… he’s going to be a real MMA competitor in a couple of years. … oh yeah, before I forget, just like some of you knuckleheads here… “I would knock Kimbo out as well” LOL…

i’m with the majority in that I think kimbo takes this one. Tank was one hell of a brawler back in his day, but that was one too many moons ago. Kimbo is in better shape, he’s got some heavy hands, and he’s training with a legit guy in bas (fuck he’s one of the best). Abbot was never stellar on the ground either though. I’m hoping this comes to an end with a stand up knock out. However, kimbo’s not ready for one of the big boys yet. He’s lucky, he’s gonna go through his first two fights without facing anyone who knows anything about submissions. His day will come, but not against abbot.

i think the match up is pretty even for the first round while both are fresh. i do believe tank will gas early. and i hope they do brawl b/c it will be fun to see who catches who first. Kimbo hits hard and faster than abbot. Stamina i dont believe is much an issue with kimbo since he is traing with Bas Rutten who is an extreme cardio freak. Also kimbo is traing with the extreme cotoure camp. so he will definately be ready for tank. Tank has alot of experience and wont go down easy and he does have a punchers chance but i have to give the nudge to kimbo.
i am not a fan particularly of either fighter i am just a fan of fighting period and kimbo seems real focused and i do believe he can make a legitimate run up the ranks in about 3yrs. as long as he is focused.

Tank Abbott is a great fighter. He can give punches and take em as well but Kimbo is just to fierce! Kimbo would win in the end. this will be a good 1 and half round fight, midway through the 2nd round both these guys are gonna be tired. im leanin to tank a little more on this one only because of his strength, has anyone else ever seen him bench 650lbs? kimbo is very fast and tank will have a problem with that, but if he survives the first round swarm i think he will pull out a win. i would love to see kimbo go to UFC or Pride just to see the look on his face when he wakes up on the middle of the mat. kimbo is more of a entertainment fighter, not belt worthy. everyone saying that he shoudl fight fedor is a fool. fedor wouldnt give this guy the time of day, its just waaaaaay under his level to fight kimbo. it will be a brawl the first round, if they make it past the 2nd round i think it will go to decision.

I’d like to start by letting you all know kimbo is gay. Tank is out of his prime and therefor doesnt have a guaranteed win but I still can bet money he will win. Kimbo is a scared pansy and thats he’s not in the UFC fighting any REAL current day MMA fighters. None of that retired 40 year old boxer crap. In the end, Tank wins in the last minute of the first round, TKO referee stoppage.

I saw Tank do the damage to Matua in Casper and then continue on for several other matches eventually losing in a match that lasted close to thirty minutes. Never count Tank out. He is so a bad ass fighter no matter what. All my respect to Kimbo. If he can get the better of Tank, so be it. Tank is awesome and he earned my respect in Casper.

P.S. It seems to me Tank was always a fat different looking fighter, but find some previous fight recordings and see what serious damage he did. And watch how he fought multiple fights in one night lasting as long as 26 minutes for one match. How’s that for fat and out of shape? He’s a warrior and keeps going. I have been watching the sport since it’s inception and I think he has been the most damaging, vicious fighter period!

Kimbo is a intense fighter while he is in the hood, or protecting some strippers. I remember that cop from Boston that beat Kimbo fair and square. He was than contacted by the UFC to fight, and lost every single fight. Tank is not in his prime but he has proven himself in the UFC. I would be surprised if Kimbo even got a chance to fight in the UFC, and I got to laugh at the comments that Kimbo would be a champion. Yeah right! Anyways Kimbo needs to stick to protecting the bust downs on 8th Street in Miami!

I’ve read much of what has been said and I for one agree with some of it. First off, no one should ever take any credit away from Kimbo. He is the epitome of what a fighter should be. His work ethic is rivaled by few. Now tie this in with his God given natural talent and you now have smeone who any fighter would be threatend by. You know, experience is a great thing to have but I am a firm believer in the fact that encyclopedic knowledge is just that. It doesn’t dictate the soul of a warrior. Kimbo is a warrior, and he can beat any fighter that UFC or any other MMA confederation. In all MMA fights, the combatants start off standing up. I honestly don’t believe that any fighter can stand toe to toe with the Black Lion Kimbo. He has a gift, we’ve only seen the cusp of what he has to offer.

Maybe when he gets flabby like Tank someone can whoop him but now he is untouchable. Oh and I saw the Kimbo vs Gannon fight. There are rules in those bare=knuckle brawls, and Gannon was using illegal headlocks and also running like a bitch. He didn’t win toe to toe and that is why Gannon got his ass whooped in every other fight he’s been in. Kimbo had enough class to fight fair even though he was being cheated, that WAS NOT a loss. Not that I recognize.

kimbo is still just a street fighter…run of the mill…big deal that he ko tank…ive watched nearly all of tanks fights.tanked proved he lost the fire.im still a tank fan but that want his best work.kimbo knows that.kimbo could have never ko’d tank when tank was knocking ppl out in the 90’s.if kimbo wants to gain real respect from the fight world,let him fight lessner.granted lessner is no champ yet but he is in better shape than tank.let him fight sapp,or gonzaga.the ppl who said that kimbo should fight lidell are stupid….they are not even in the same weight.jeff monson would knock out kimbo…kimbo should shave that nappy muslim fro and look like a cage fighter should.

kimbo’s ground game sucks.bas’s ground game sucks.bas was never anything special.just like militch.he wasnt that good of a fighter.both are good coaches but not top shelf fighters.so what if kimbo is training with bas.kimbo has a long way to go.he too stupid to see that the fight world is feeding him to fighters.they trying to make money as fast as they can with him and they know it wont last long.all they trying to do is fight him against washed up x-ufc guys.if he wants to get better fast,he should step up and fight better guys in there prime.even if he looses,he would learn more from that than anything bas could teach him.his ground game in his last fight was weak at best.he should use what works for him.he has heavy hands and should work on his cardio.maybe fall back on ground fighting after he wears his opponit down.id be ashamed of his conditioning.im a broke fuck who cant afford to train full time like kimbo buti promise my conditioning is way better and im nearly his size.i train 2 times a week and train to fight 5-7 five min rounds and we trade out fresh guys every round….i dont know what kimbo does but his cardio is like a old mans cardio….fuck even mir has better cardio than kimbo….btw…whoever said tyson is tough…he would get his ass handed to him in any mma fight program…tyson is a piece of shit and needs to be back in prison..watch some of his interviews on youtube…he needs a a 50 cal. to the dome…..
