The Kimbo vs. Shamrock fight is cancelled. Shamrock’s trainer cut his eye during the warmup and he requires stitches, and the doctor can’t approve him to fight. So filling in is Seth “The Silverback” Petruzelli (9-4).
This guy’s a virtual unknown who has never been knocked out, so the question is, does he have a chance against Kimbo that EliteXC wasn’t planning for? We’ll see…

I was actually at the fight, at the BankAtlantic Center, and the shock that fell over the crowd was priceless. I understand he’s a local hero. But that’s the key. LOCAL. This circus act can’t be brought on the road. A fight pitting Slice VS Shamrock in Sunrise, FL??? Why not Vegas? Because Shamrock wasn’t going to fight all along. “Bait and Switch!”

One can be absolutely sure that they will give this “street fighting champion” a very weak opponent next time. Most likely another very old completely shot former fighter (who is no longer training) or some light heavyweight newcomer. Or some guy like he used to fight before, untrained guy who is not able to defend himself.
Next time he will fight a real fighter he will lose again. Or they have to spend some money fixing the fight.

Anyone with half a brain saw this coming, your last fight showed your lack of endurance in comparison to others. Although I believe your previous fight was scripted to an extent as well, although simple. “Fight, beat eachother to shit, at the end pop his ear a few times.”
This fight was obviously fixed. Training the day of the fight? yeah, right. Sorry guys but heavyweights do not have that much endurance. Secondly, shamrock replaced? the night of? Anonymous- I agree with you. I think Kimbo is a great fighter but they messed up by making him so big so quick. It’s fine if he wants to be in MMA- but they should have done it gradually. Street brawling and MMA fighting are two different things on two WHOLE DIFFERENT LEVELS. He should train the way he has been and learn more about the different styles of fighting befor he just gets thrown in there with his street techniques.About last nights fight.. I definitely agree that it was fixed. I’m not so sure about the Petruzzeli part, but the fact that Shamrock was taken out last minute was totally set up!!! Then they got this whimpy guy to go up against him expecting for Kimbo to tear him up and add more hype but it backfired. I dont know… I haven’t figured it out whether it was set up so that he loses or if it really backfired. Either way- everyone got a big surprise.

CHILL with all the race shit jesus the guy fought who cares what color he is.
On to Kimbo, hes a GREAT striker but everyone is relying on the fact that hes a great street fighter (and that he is) and thinking it will take him to new heights in MMA, don’t get me wrong its a great start but its not what MMA is all about.
With the right training I think Kimbo could do very well in MMA but at this point if he can’t get past Seth just stay home a train.
The whole Fixed thing? Why is it that whenever a loved fighter loses why does it HAVE to be fixed? in MMA ANYONE CAN GET KNOCKED OUT OR TAPPED OUT ON ANY NIGHT, YES EVEN KIMBO and it does not mean its fixed, So Chuck getting knocked out by Rashad was fixed right? because alot of us are Chuck fans NO Rashad caught Chuck with a GREAT overhand right, alot of respect for Rashad for that. One thing I know for sure Kimbo will come back and when he does he will be better, harder and faster! Every great fighter has lost once and he still needs a lot to learn. Kimbo knows that too, he said this a few times himself. He wasn’t prepared for Seth maybe it was a setup from the beginning by shamrock, who knows? Kimbo went for Seth to impulsive not knowing anything about this fighter. A then that lucky and weird punch, the next time it will be a complete different story. I’m also sure that kimbo learnt a lot from this fight; now he’s back with his two feet on the ground. He had to deal with a lot of pressure; now he can train as he should be with his mind cleared and not as a hype. Greets to all Kimbo Slice fans and the Kimbo Slice team.
