Kimbo vs Thompson
Kimbo vs James Thompson is the fight you’ve probably heard about lately: Kimbo’s next fight will be on May 31st against James “The Colossus” Thompson (formerly called “Megapunk”). This will be on EliteXC’s Saturday Night Fights event, so you’ll be able to watch Kimbo vs Thompson and the other fights free on CBS, no pay-per-view required here.
James Thompson is 2-6 over his last 8 fights, coming off a February loss against Brett Rogers. Nicknamed The Colossus, Thompson had made several appearances in Pride before it disbanded last year. He’s probably most well-known for this video.
So I guess the question is, does this make sense? Granted Kimbo’s only had 3 MMA fights so far, but should he still be fighting people on losing streaks or should they throw something a little more challenging his way, like Butterbean?
So Kimbo vs Thompson is probably explained like this: Since this Elite XC event is going to be mainstream TV’s biggest dose of MMA ever, they want to showcase Kimbo as some tough-as-hell brawler who swallows other big, mean-looking guys. They don’t him to lose this. In the case that the unfavored Thompson prevails, it’s going to look pretty bad for Kimbo Slice and EliteXC.

I’ll admit Kimbo is a tough son of a bitch at his very core, but as an MMA fighter he’s a chump.
Put him in the ring with Liddel, Quinton, Fedor, Aleksander or Wanderlei and watch him get picked apart. Just face it, Kimbo’s a glorified street fighter; plain and simple.

The fight with thompson was bullshit!, it was a great fight and I’m glad to see kimbo win, but the fight was ended to soon. Thompson took some hits like that earlier and somehow recovered but they didn’t give him the chance to. I really doubt he was gonna recover but it wasn’t right to stop it so soon. Also, early in the fight they were forced to stand up when thompson clearly was in side mount, they had no reason to stand them up that was a bullshit call.

Kimbo needs ground game and some REAL training. He is tuff. If he would have gotten into this sport ten years ago he would be one of the greats,but he didnt. Kimbo take it slow. Play smart. And quit letting them make a spectacal of you. They are gonna wanna put you you up against some of the best of the sport soon, dont let them. Take your time. Dont let CBS make you just a hype.

i agree with most of you and would add whether you like kimbo or think he’s a chump, the dude is fightin’ all the way to the bank. i’ve heard him say he’s fightin’ for the money and i’m glad to see him get it.

keep gettin that money kimbo,rogers is a hater.can’t believe those guys are talkin all that trash.let people keep sleep your ground game.them guys at the top might get caught by suprise.they keep forgeting about your first sub,and your power.cant wait to see you shut rogers up.talk is cheap.put your money where your mouth is .thats what i say!!!
